Meet the Surgeon

Dr. Justin Harper
DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVS-LA

A graduate of Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Harper completed an internship in Littleton, Colorado, then a surgical residency in large animal surgery at Auburn University before returning to South Texas.

He underwent rigorous additional training in small animal surgery under Dr. Andy Baker — a 40-year veteran small animal surgeon — and Dr. Don Hulse of Texas A&M University. Board certified in large animal surgery through the ACVS, Dr. Harper began pursuit of dual certification in small animal surgery, pausing only because surgical demand outpaced the residency timeline.

Today, TSVS performs over 800 surgeries per year across San Antonio, the Texas Hill Country, and the I-35 corridor — bringing referral-quality surgical outcomes directly to community veterinary practices.
